The Three-Hole Stone stood at this spot. It was not made by human hands, but was perforated and notched by weathering. The original was formerly a boundary stone between Saxe-Coburg and Saxe-Hildburghausen. It was stolen by unknown persons and replaced with a man-made three-hole stone.

The Weitramsdorfer Dreilöcherstein was already lost once before it reappeared in 1976. Now he's gone again.
Until 1990, the stone structure with three swirled holes still stood near Gersbach on the border between Bavaria and Thuringia on Eckertsberg. It was declared as a special object in a chain of at least ten small monuments, most of which can still be found along the former state border.
