Bike Touring Highlight
Location: Chiusaforte, Udine, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy
A dream of a railway cycle path downhill.
Tunnels, bridges, nice cafes, great scenery.
Unfortunately not all tunnels can be used and there are still about 6 km of cycle paths to go to the next town, Carnia.
New tunnels have been added at Pontebba since June 2020.
In 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017 and 2020 I cycled the railway line and repeatedly experienced expansion stages.

The cycle paths obtained from the railways are always beautiful and the tunnels give emotions and, if necessary, also a shelter from the summer heat.

08.2021: Really good flooring in all tunnels, but unfortunately the lighting left a lot to be desired. It is better to have no lighting than to be blinded point by point. Be sure to bring your own bike lights!

Due to the course on the former railway line, a lot of tunnels and no climbs and also many bridges with a magnificent view! Continuously easy to drive until shortly before Venzone.
