Sömmerda's city center has changed in recent years due to costly renovation measures. Today, two bronze sculpture groups shape the image of Marktstraße and Obermarkt as seeing and experiencing details. The sculptor Prof. Wolfgang Dreysse, born in Sömmerdaer, who now lives in Quedlinburg, developed a concept that provides three-dimensional images at several locations in the city center. The ancient goddesses Pomona and Fortuna - and soon also Minerva - each embody a work of art depicting a piece of the history of the city with its buildings and its people, with distinctive and identity-forming pictorial objects. The 3 sculptures in the city are worth seeing. One on the city wall, one on the Obermarkt and one behind the church towards the city park.
