I have to agree with the previous speaker, we had hoped for something different under this term market, fruit, vegetables, rooster made of clay or metal, known for Barcelos, generally much more art made of clay…. But we also saw the roosters ... you can sell that differently, you don't have to tie the animals' feet together. This is pure stress for the animals, no thanks. We won't visit the market anymore either.

The Feira de Barcelos takes place every Thursday. It is one of the largest handicraft markets in all of Portugal. The hustle and bustle is definitely worth seeing. With regard to the animals offered for sale, however, I have to agree with the previous speakers.
