This church, which is very old in origin - surrounded by an old cemetery - is worth a detour. I was particularly impressed by the design of the pulpit. The small organ dates from the middle of the 17th century and was thoroughly restored a good 30 years ago.

The parish has an interesting history page with download options for informative PDF files with explanations:

A very beautiful church, the old linden tree, a great church (cemetery) yard with old tombstones. Seating with a bench and table is ideal for taking a break.

The St. Sigismund Church sits enthroned on the ridge - one of the oldest in the Verden church district.

The oldest part, the choir, of Daverden's St. Sigismund Church was probably built before 1222. The nave is dated to the late Middle Ages, while the extensions were built around 1899/1901. The Daverden churchyard with its ancient tombstones was already a burial site in pagan times, as shown by an urn found in 1931 when a grave was being dug.
