Tips
The "Alte Trotte" is not the oldest wine tavern, but rather the oldest wine press in Germany. Dating back to the 16th century, it was restored over many years by members of the Lauf Local History Society starting in 1952. It can be visited on Sundays from May to October on the grounds of the Alsenhof. The local history society also hosts a small-scale event hosted by extremely friendly members.
