A nice highlight of the tour.

The path to the summit includes climbing at grades I and II. I would classify it as “pleasure climbing”. Alpine or climbing experience is necessary as the path is not secured. No via ferrata, rope-secured or artificial steps.

Danger of falling - danger to life

It is rarely very exposed, but due to the steepness it is sufficient to fall in a life-threatening manner, so you should not slip or fall. Good footwear, (mountain climbing) experience, a good foothold and a head for heights are prerequisites. Partly loose or loose limestone rock, so just be careful when stepping and grabbing. Due to the danger of falling rocks, I would also recommend a helmet.

The direction is well marked with red dots throughout. Orientation skills are required.

    Have fun on the tour.

Classic in the Karwendel. Approach via Mittenwald and Hochlandhütte, then continue via the Wörnerssttel through the west flank to the Wörner.
It only gets demanding from the Wörnerssttel, alternating between climbing and walking terrain. A 2nd place otherwise rather 1er climbing places.
But still very steep and exposed, and very crumbly.
Routine and a head for heights required. Watch out for falling rocks and take a helmet with you.
marking very good. But not recommended in fog.
