You walk over the Alte Mainbrücke from Kitzingen to the Etwashausen district.
You are walking towards a small baroque church.
It is probably the most elaborate "village church" that Balthasar Neumann has ever created.

The Kreuzkapelle in Kitzingen-Etwashausen was designed by the famous Franconian Baroque master builder Balthasar Neumann. The originality and the level of the Neumann architecture are remarkable for a village church.
It was built between 1741 and 1745 on the plan of a Latin cross and is reminiscent of the patronage. The interior of the church is architecturally elaborate with a hemispherical dome on four exposed pairs of Tuscan columns above the crossing and with semicircular barrels in the adjoining rooms. This created an exciting wall, room and vault structure.
