The Bansamühle was built in 1705 as a water mill with a residence by Andreas Löber, who, as court architect of Count Johann Philipp von Isenburg, designed the geometric floor plan of the newly founded Neu-Isenburg. The mill takes its name from the Frankfurt banking family Bansa, who acquired the mill in the second half of the 18th century and used it as a country residence.
