The Winterhuder bridge is a zweigelenkige steel arch bridge, which connects the Hamburg neighborhoods Eppendorf and Winterhude. From the bridge you have beautiful views of the Alster. The four-lane national road 5 at this point crosses the Alster as Hudtwalckerstraße on Winterhuder side or as Ludolfstraße on Eppendorfer side over the Winterhuder bridge. The roadway is held by a steel truss arch. The 27.10 m long and 20 m wide bridge was built from 1918 to 1921 and replaced a wooden bridge, which led since 1877 at this point over the Alster. This wooden bridge was allowed to be accessed only by persons, while wagons had to use a nearby ford to cross the very flat Alster at this point.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winterhuder_Br%C3%BCcke
