From the Winterhuder bridge you have the best views of the Alster Canal. The Winterhuder Bridge is a double-jointed steel arch bridge that connects the Hamburg districts of Eppendorf and Winterhude. From the bridge you have beautiful views of the Alster. The four-lane Bundesstrasse 5 at this point crosses the Alster as Hudtwalckerstrasse on the Winterhuder side or as Ludolfstrasse on the Eppendorfer side via the Winterhuder bridge. The roadway is held by a steel truss arch. The 27.10 m long and 20 m wide bridge was built from 1918 to 1921 and replaced a wooden bridge that had been crossing the Alster at this point since 1877. This wooden bridge could only be entered by people, while wagons had to use a nearby ford to cross the Alster, which was very flat at this point.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winterhuder_Br%C3%BCcke
