This building stands next to the cathedral and was founded in December 1666 as a library of the university. Until 1671, however, the library did not have a large collection of books. This changed, however, when in 1671 the library of the cathedral chapter took its place. During the Schoenstatt War, the university operation came to a virtual standstill and the library came to Malm in the church of St. Peter. With the start of teaching at the university, the stock was relocated in 1682 to Lund again. as a result of a donation by King Charles XI. The stock of books grew considerably. Therefore, the library moved in 1690 in the so-called Kunghus and then in 1907 in its present seat.
