The highest peak in the Steinernes Meer mountain range. From the Schönfeldspitze, there is a magnificent view of the Watzmann and the Königssee lake on one side, and on the other side down into the Saalfelden valley and the mountains beyond. The ascent is not for the faint of heart and requires a head for heights.

Contrary to some descriptions (which can be found on the Internet), the tour should not be underestimated.
Difficulty level 1 often has to be climbed. Absolute freedom from vertigo and sure-footedness must be guaranteed. Not for the faint hearted!!! But the climb is worth it!!!
