Hiking Highlight (Segment)
Also in winter a fairytale trail through the Wieslaufschlucht. Good footwear is mandatory, otherwise it will be difficult.

A walk through the Wieslaufschlucht on narrow, slippery, sometimes directly on steep slopes along leading paths is adventurous, sometimes even difficult. But this makes the Wieslaufschlucht a unique, exciting experience. The beautifully embedded in the green of the forest blade mill and a waterfall cascading over several stages are other impressive highlights.

We went the Wieslaufschlucht upstream from Klaffenbach in the direction of Welzheim. Either way a real highlight in the Welzheimer forest. Partially (and I think that's great) are fallen trees across the way. A little bit of bracing offers additional adventure. Good shoes I would recommend. In damp weather or in winter actually a must in this valley.

Hiked through the gorge today. Parts of the route were washed away by the rain yesterday. At one point the path has been undermined by the water of the Wieslauf and slipped. Elsewhere, a large boulder appears to have slipped down, damaging the path. In the course of the stream itself, driftwood and even whole tree trunks have hacked and collected in places. Likewise, the long wooden bridge on the erosion slope below the Klingenmühle was completely swept aside, making it impossible to cross the Wieslauf. Then had to cross it. But it was still very interesting to see the Wieslauf after the heavy rain with a lot of water and especially the effects.Update: 09/29/2020.
The bridge was restored today when we walked through the gorge again.

Run yesterday (01/30/2021). Pretty bad road conditions. Some fallen trees have to be climbed over them. Everything is slippery and wet. Ice and snow.
Otherwise it's really nice there. Bring time to take good pictures. 😀
There is a small part at Laufenmühle that is still easy to manage. With a bridge over Wieslauf.

Can Artedain only agree
Am on 25.05. In 2019 we walked through this beautiful gorge. The way is definitely worth it. But good shoes and hiking poles are useful.
We wanted to stop at the Kilngenmühle but were scared by a very unfriendly host. So we hiked on to the walking mill.

It is wild, the deeply cut blade, which is surprising given the shallow stream. Primal forces still seem to be at work here. The sluggish brook is hardly able to move the mikado of the transverse tree trunks or the boulders in the brook bed. It flows gently and peacefully along its creek bed, as if to emphasize the contrast to the raw beauty of the steep slopes.

The part of the Wieslaufschlucht down from the Klingenmühle is a very nice way, if it was wet in the last few days, the way is quite muddy and good shoes are highly recommended.

Very nice, great air, but also very slippery when it rained in front of it. Sturdy shoes and sticks are recommended.

A very nice view of the brook, although the brook has little water at the moment due to the drought.
