Many centuries ago, two farmers lived in Perschen who wanted to have their ploughshares sharpened by the blacksmith in Nabburg. They set off together and stopped at an inn along the way. There was laughter, storytelling, and more drinking than was good for them.
When they started their way home along the Naab in the evening, they got into a fierce argument. Angry words turned into a fight. Finally, one of the farmers grabbed his freshly sharpened ploughshare and struck his companion dead.
