The small Arilds Kapell is located in the historic center of the former fishing village of Arild, about 12 kilometers northeast of the city of Höganäs.

The first written mention of the Chapel of Arild can be found in a papal letter of 1475. The chapel was most likely built by herring fishermen from Stubbarp and Flundarp, who had a landing place at Arild for their fishing boats. The simple style of the chapel suggests that it was built by skilled craftspeople, but without the help of a special church builder.

Arilds kapell belongs to the church of Brunnby 2 kilometers away and was extensively restored between 1737 and 1744. The votive ship, the model of a galley, dates back to that time, as they used to go between Helsingborg and Elsinore at that time. In the small cemetery around the chapel rest exclusively drowned people who were washed ashore on the coast.
