The Imperial Temple was built for the founders of the German Empire from 1871. You will find images of Chancellor Otto von Bismarck or Kaiser Wilhelm. If you cross the interior, you will come to a viewpoint. From here you have a magnificent view over Eppstein and the surrounding valleys. If you are hungry, you can eat something in the "Ristorante Kaisertempel" (Mondays are closed).

Nice view of Eppstein. The castle is lit at night.
To use this place as a starting point of a hike is not desirable because the parking spaces belong to the rather high-priced restaurant.

A wonderful place with a great view. A very, very worthwhile destination. But it's a steep climb from Eppstein, with gradients of up to 18%.
