Was up in the winter. Was not hosted, but therefore an idyllic peace with the best view. A few benches are scattered. One of the most beautiful places in the Allgäu

Fantastic little former mountain village in an idyllic location! The view of the mountains is beautiful, as well as the Tobelweg on the Trettach along.
    Highly Recommended!

    Very nice dining room.
The Hölltobel is an additional highlight, either up or down from Gerstruben.

The former mountain farming village of Gerstruben in the Oberstdorf market is one of the highest places in Germany. It lies at the beginning of the Dietersbach valley and once had eleven farmsteads and a chapel. Today there are still five houses from the 15th and 16th centuries and the chapel from the 17th century.

The way from Oberstdorf over the Trettachtal to Gerstruben and back has a length of about 12 km. From the hamlet Dietersberg starts the Gerstruber Steige, which leads a 150 meters up to the mountain village. In summer you can alternatively take the beautiful footpath through the Hölltobel Gorge, which, however, requires surefootedness or the Rautweg further south in the Trettachtal. In winter, the last two compounds are not recommended for safety reasons.
