The Setzebach has its source on the north-west flank of the Michelskopf.
Below the summit are the Michelskopfseen, two directly adjacent lakes in former basalt quarries, which are up to 100 m wide and together have a length of around 700 m.
They are towered over by 8 to 10 m high basalt rocks or walls from the former quarry.
