Untertage Biken am Mt. Peca/Bergbaumuseum – Mountainbiken in Koroška

With mountain bikes you usually drive over the mountains. Here is something different: Here you are driving in the mountain! Made possible by the abandoned mine Mežica. Where once lead and zinc were mined, today is a mountain bike trail network of the special kind. Most important utensil: your bike lights, preferably a helmet lamp (which you can borrow here, if you do not have your own).

The newest highlight is even more extreme: Over five debris with a difference in height of around 150 meters, the new Black Hole Trail offers you a big kick, even if you think you've already seen or driven everything. By the way, you will be accompanied by a guide on all trails so that everything runs smoothly - safety first, this is especially true underground.

Of course, biking underground is a bit special. But quite practical: it will definitely not rain here. In general, the "weather" here is predictable, because the temperature on the mining trails is constantly ten degrees. A long pants and a warm jacket make sense, but the rain jacket can safely stay at home.

You have to register your drive through the mountain. This can be done by e-mail or by phone. Depending on the size of the group, different prices result: 2-3 people pay 30 euros each. Up to 7 people, the fun costs 25 euros per person. Up to 14 people 22 euros per person and in groups that are larger, 20 euros per person payable.

By the way, after the tour, it is worth visiting the Mežica Mining Museum.

Amazing experience in a tube, surrounded by rocks for mountain biking. Here you definitely reach your limits and if you haven't found them yet, have fun. The tour takes 2 hours and is about 10 km. In the end, you have no feeling for the time or the route you have taken.
Definitely not for inexperienced bikers.
