Best Hikes to Jochberg
Tips
  • In my opinion, a mountain can not be better. The Jochberg is located exactly between Kochel and Walchensee. On clear autumn days, the view extends far into the foothills of the Alps as far as Munich. With a bit of luck, you can see ibexes in addition to the great view.

  • The Jochberg is probably one of the most famous peaks in the region. At the top, it's like Stachus.
Still worth the tour, because the view of the Walchensee is just fantastic.

To whom Jochberg alone is too little can, for example, descend via the Sonnenspitze in Kochel.

  • From the summit of Jochberg you have a beautiful view of the Oberland. You can see Starnberger See, Ammersee, Staffelsee, Riegsee, Kochelsee, Walchensee. I particularly like the view of the caribbean Walchensee and the Alps beyond.

At sunrise it was very windy on the summit. I actually wished for hats and gloves ...

  • On the way between Innsbruck and Munich the Jochberg can be easily celebrated in a 2-3h relaxation tour.

At least once a year, I'm drawn to at least the mountain of Munich

Day, night, spring, summer, autumn or winter: The Jochberg is accessible year-round :)

  • A nice tour, well marked, you should take the summit with you. Even when the sky is overcast, it offers a view of the lakes to the north.

  • Beautiful view over the Walchensee and over the Kochselsee :)
One of the most beautiful panoramas nearby :)

  • Take a picnic blanket or sleeping mat with you and look for a nice spot on the southern slope. The view is terrific and so many others have done it (there are no benches or similar).

  • If you have time during the week then you should climb this summit. AND best of all very early ... we like to do the mountain tour again and again

it is certainly one of the most popular peaks in the Alps, but we are always happy to set off ... just be there in time and who can during the week

Great summit - very popular but always an experience .... especially at different seasons; who has time should go during the week, but then very early ;-)

always an experience to visit the Jochberg ... who is early, also saves a lot of excitement

  • We climbed over the Kotalm to the Jochberg and then stopped at the Jocheralm.
After the Kotalm it is quite steep uphill, but there is less public traffic.

  • Unfortunately a bit overcrowded at the weekend, despite all this, a nice, relatively easy hike with a great view over the region, especially Walchensee and Kochelsee from above are definitely worth the walk
