Following the historic Barge Walk, the Thames Path takes you right past the majestic royal palace dating back to the early 16th century. Now belonging to Queen Elizabeth II, it was originally built for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey. The palace is open for visitors but you will have to purchase a ticket. General opening hours are 10am to 6pm in the summer and 10am to 4.30pm during the winter.
