As usual on our rides, in our quest for quiet roads and lost lanes, we ended up for a brief moment on a bridleway just after Abinger Hammer, going off Guildford Road. I'd advise to give this detour a miss, it was unnecessary.
Otherwise great route mostly entirely on quiet country lanes or back streets.

We went on a few bridleways on this tour. I was on my road bike and it was fine. We quite like going completely offroad whilst on our road bikes. After Ruislip Lido, there is a section that is not very nice, on a busy road, until you get to the Grand Union canal.
