"To be distinguished
- the Elder Elde, as the Elde and Elde, continuing under the branch of navigation at Eldena, into the Elde side canal
- The numerous, in addition to the above Eldena daugeregelten and straightened Elde surviving, often winding parts of the original river (backwater), which are also often called Old Elder.
The Eldera coming and today at the Brandenburg Seedorf in Löcknitz ending Old Elde was renatured in 2005 and 2006 in a transnational (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg) project.A longer contiguous section of an old waterway can be found north of the waterway east of Lübz near Kuppentin. It is designated as a nature reserve because of the presence of rare animal and plant species and the presence of almost natural water structures. Between Lübz and Parchim the Elder Elde is preserved on several sections partly right, partly left of the waterway. Between the confluence of the Störkanals and Neustadt-Glewe is the Altlauf, there on newer maps sometimes only referred to as Elde, right of the waterway. In Grabow, a piece of Alte Elde flows through the city center as before, and on to Güritz to the left of the waterway. "- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elde#Alte_Elde
