This Elisabeth-Quelle (Stollen) lies below the steam bath in the Bismarkstraße and rises from Blockwerk with 12 exit point. It produces a gigantic 2580 m³ / day and has a temperature of 46.1 ° C. The radon content is 47.8 nC / l. The spring rises at 996 m above sea level. It has a 2 square meter basin and a bed of 1210 liters per minute. Renovation work was carried out in 1979/80.
This source supplies Bad Hofgastein with thermal water - daily 950,000 liters.
The Elisabeth spring was recast in the years 1921 to 1923 and the gallery was rebuilt in concrete. At the same time, a Roman coin of the emperor Trajan was found in an old wooden stake in the gallery. In the course of the work on the Elisabethstollen, the Emanatorium, newly built in 1914, was abandoned in 1921 and a natural vapor bath was built in the same building.
