The Palfnersee lies in a basin surrounded by the peaks of the Palfnerseekogel and the Feuersang. The Palfnersee can be reached on foot from Bad Gastein - or you can take the chairlift up the Graukogel.

On the way to Lake Palfnersee, it is better to take the detour via the deserted alpine pasture if you are not in a hurry (+1h) - the path is nicer, emptier and you will be rewarded with a great view from the lonely shore!
