the almost 1000 m high Höfener Hütte is just as good a starting point as it is a destination for hikes and mountain bike tours. There is a terrace and an extended patio with a wonderful view of the Dreisamtal. Food is good and affordable. Monday closed! In midsummer it is not that hot up here and you almost feel like you are in the Allgäu or the Alps. A detour to the summit of the Hinterwaldkopf: almost a must!
