On February 13, 1525, the famous farmer's leader Thomas Müntzer stood on the slope above the Werra and called out courage to around 1000 rebellious farmers from the Treffurt area. A memorial plaque was placed here during the GDR era. The inscription reads: "Peasant pulpit".
From here, Thomas Müntzer called on the Falken farmers to fight against the masters.
Spurred on by the farmer's leader, the angry farmers devastated monasteries and aristocratic residences in southern Eichsfeld as well as the Großburschla monastery during the Peasant War.

From here, Thomas Müntzer called on the farmers of Falken to fight against the gentlemen.
Incited by the peasant leader, the angry farmers devastated monasteries and aristocratic residences in southern Eichsfeld and also the Großburschla monastery during the time of the Peasants' War. Even the Catholic pastor Lips König from Falken was attached to the insurgents.
In 1527 Matthäus Böttcher became the first Protestant pastor in Falken. The peasant pulpit is also known as the Thomas Müntzer pulpit.
