The Ulanendenkmal offers a great view of the Rhine Valley and Rhöndorf. There are many benches in the area that invite you to take a break.

a memorial for the fallen of the Uhlan Regiment in the First World War. From up here you have a beautiful view of the Rhine Valley.

A memorial in honor of the soldiers of the regiment who died in World War I was initially to be erected in its garrison town of Saarbrücken, but this was ruled out due to the status of the Saar region at the time and its connection to France. In the course of efforts to find an alternative location, the mother of one of the regiment's captains, Ludwig Lantz, who came from Rhöndorf, provided a plot of land for the construction of the monument.

The memorial in Rhöndorf was created according to a draft drawn up free of charge by the Düsseldorf architect Emil Fahrenkamp. The construction was carried out by a local builder. The construction costs were covered by donations. Construction began before 1923, and the inauguration took place on September 27, 1925 in the presence of almost 1,000 people.

The building has been owned and cared for by the town of Bad Honnef since 1961.[2][3] It was entered in the monument list of the town of Bad Honnef on September 24, 1984.[1] The monument was renovated from spring 2020.[4]
