Mariasorg was first mentioned in documents in 1465. It stood in the edge settlement "In the Sorg", which flourished at the beginning of the 16th century by the silver mining of the Counts Schlick. More pilgrims pilgrimage to the image of grace of the crowned, helpful Virgin Mary with the baby Jesus in the small chapel, so that in 1699 a larger stone church was built for 1800 visitors. In 1754, the Capuchins took over the pastoral care and there was a Capuchin monastery with a hospital. This monastery existed until the end of the Second World War in May 1945. Due to the incipient uranium mining by forced laborers and the expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia decayed the monastery. The crumbling buildings were demolished in the second half of the 1960s. The miraculous image of Mary came to the parish church in St. Joachimsthal.
