The second part of the tour led again through rustic forests and valleys to the High Fens, a moor area around the highest mountain in Belgium. The route was again very varied and very nice to drive. Shortly before an extensive rain area we arrived back in Bütgenbach and got our 3rd stone this year.

The 3rd Stoneman this year ... we drove the first half of the tour today in the best weather. Incredibly beautiful landscape, huge pastures and otherwise only forest. The route and the ground are great, very beautiful trails downhill and easy-to-drive forest trails uphill. Stopover and overnight in St. Vith, a pretty little sleepy town. Tomorrow it will continue ...

A bit of sight seeing was announced today. We took the boat across Königssee to Skt. Bartholomä and hiked from there to the ice chapel. This is a narrow valley where the snow from the surrounding mountains gathers into the summer. The Eisbach then melts a cavern up to several meters in diameter under the snow - the ice chapel. There wasn't much snow anymore, but it was still a great spectacle. The meltwater in the stream is crystal clear and ice cold. The hike continued to the mouth of the lake and along its banks. I have rarely seen a clearer lake. The boat brought us to the south end and another walk to the Obersee. The surrounding mountain range is reflected in its equally clear water - spectacular! Unfortunately very touristy and well attended, it is still worth it. In the afternoon we drove on the Rossfeld panorama road, a ring road up to 1500m with great views of the Dachstein Mountains and the surrounding mountains.

Today's stage was not as tough as yesterday, but still very demanding. Again there were 2 long and steep ramps to conquer. First we went to Hochgründeck from 870m to 1800m. The path was steep but easy to drive. A wonderful panorama and eggs with bacon were the reward. A small detour to the summit cross without a backpack was also included. Down the many meters of altitude on forest roads and forest paths were destroyed. From the valley, the last climb on the Sattelbauer was under the wheels. We covered most of the entire route in the blazing sun, which offered wonderful views but was also quite nice. Back in Flachau there was the silver stone, for which we finally went to all the trouble.
