"... In the immediate vicinity of the Todtnau waterfalls, in the protection of the forest on the "Roßweg", there is a large boulder with several symbols carved into its front. The people here in the upper Wiesental call it "Treasure Stone". According to tradition, a French officer buried a treasure near the stone in 1795 during the turmoil of the Revolutionary Wars. It is reported that the officer returned to Todtnau many years later with a letter in which he described the place in detail. ..."
