The chapel was built and consecrated in 1995. The Christ on the Cross was attached to the spruce trunk around 1945. In the beginning there was a wooden cross which weathered over the years. The tree grew over the years around the metal Christ. During a storm, the spruce fell over and the trunk could be saved. The Huber family later decided to build a chapel here.
In the chapel there is the following inscription: "Because the Christ was always decorated with fresh flowers by unknown persons for decades, the assumption is reasonable that the cross is dedicated to the memory of those who died in Lochhamer Schlag in the post-war days in 1945.
