The Teufelsley offers a fantastic panoramic view over the Ahr valley and the Siebengebirge. You can let your eyes wander over the nature reserve Langfigtal and the villages Altenahr and Mayschoss ...

The cross was also modernized and should now be able to defy many storms ...

The last few meters to the summit are almost alpine in character and you should not only have sturdy shoes but also have both hands free. And the summit is also a bit wider ...

Coming from the direction of Mayschoss, the ascent to the summit cross can be made on site even without an existing marker. However, we did not find the start of the descent towards Altenahr beyond doubt. We then, as others have probably done before us, descended a bit tricky to the left over the steep slope to the hiking trail bypassing the Teufelslei. A walking stick is helpful here.

Addendum: I went up again. This time I descended towards Altenahr. It goes down an approx. 3 m high ledge that is easy to climb, then the further path is obvious. Seen from above, the beginning of the path is covered by low bushes.

For fit people who have little (or no!) Alpine experience and do not feel 100% comfortable when it goes down steeply on the left and right and the view is clear: the ascent from the south is much easier thanks to a number of bushes and trees. I can only recommend!
