The old church Wieren dates back to the 12th century. It has been preserved and was renovated and is used in the summer for services and concerts.

Beautiful old church. Striking the tower.

In Wieren a stone church was already since the 12th century. The nave was probably built in the 12th century from fieldstone, while the choir of bricks in the monastery format was not grown until 1433. The gothic interior work took place 1464 u. a. with a gothic winged altar, which stands today in the St. Michaelis church in Schnega. The wooden bell tower was first mentioned in documents in 1657.

In 1917, after a long dispute over the right of way, the congregation bought the property of the former cemetery site in Wieren, on which the church had been built, for 4700 marks. The old Feldsteinkirche stood since 1911 more or less unused. For some time it was used as a book store and released in 1930 at the instigation of the Provost for youth groups as a hostel. That ended with the war in 1939. Today the Wierener are happy about this old landmark. After various renovations, this listed stone church is used for worship and, more recently, as a concert hall.
