Around 220m from the electric lighthouse, those responsible erected another sea mark in 1928 to light the difficult entrance to the Ems even more intensively.
The "Düne" cross-mark light - also called the "Cuckoo Tower" by islanders - became superfluous from 1995 onwards due to fairway shifts and was consequently switched off.
Well preserved but still a beautiful photo motif that simply fits into the maritime picture ❤️🤍.
