    The so-called Grasel cave was originally probably a Erdstall and was used with the advent of the pilgrimage Maria Dreieichen in the Baroque period by a hermit as a shelter. Nearby is the Holy Bründl and there is also a pilgrimage route.

    Johann Georg Grasel, the robber murderer, had at any time the possibility of staying with the skinners and stalwarts of the neighborhood. The so-called Graselhöhle of Maria Dreieichen was hardly suitable for him as a hiding place, because here again and again believers visited the Bründl and passed on the way to the pilgrimage church. This story was apparently invented in the 19th century for the enjoyment of pilgrims and tourists.

    But a sad chapter is the current condition of this cave! Due to improper actions, the collapse of the entrance area occurred years ago. Today's design or restoration seems little happy!
