Hiking

Steep stony climb with violent ramps, slippery when wet. The fastest way up to the Kesselbergpass to the Walchensee. Well suited for hiking, rather too steep for mountain biking.

Hiking

Generally very steep, in my opinion almost not recommended by bike. I'd probably prefer the road, despite the heavy traffic. While doable by bike, you'll have to dismount as part of the trail is very scree, while the rest is a wide gravel path. Very nice for hiking. It's intense, but always shaded thanks to the forest, and you'll be rewarded with a wonderful view of Lake Walchensee.
