In just a few minutes you will float with the gondola up to the mountain station. Already at the driveway you have a fantastic view of the Kochelsee.
From the mountain station it is only a few minutes to the mountain inn Herzogstand. From there, a trail leads in serpentines to the summit of the Herzogstand and from there as an exciting tightrope walk to Heimgarten.

Sure, you can go up and down by train. You can also hike up and down. Is better for some knees. From the mountain station you can walk up to the summit cross or to the Herzogstand. However, the path is not suitable for walking shoes. It is partly rocky.
