Tips

In just a few minutes you will float with the gondola up to the mountain station. Already at the driveway you have a fantastic view of the Kochelsee.

From the mountain station it is only a few minutes to the mountain inn Herzogstand. From there, a trail leads in serpentines to the summit of the Herzogstand and from there as an exciting tightrope walk to Heimgarten.

    Fares:
Adults: ascent and descent 12,50 Euro, single journey 7 Euro

Children (6 to 15 years): Ascent and descent 6.50 euros, one-way trip 4 euros

Family ticket (parents & a child): ascent and descent 26 euros, one-way 16 euros

All further information can be found at herzogstandbahn.de.

If you are in the region, a must. Even with children you can move well upstairs ...
    However, it's nothing for prams.

Do not wander this way on the weekend, too full and arrived at the top you do not even get to drink anything because too many people have ridden up by the gondola

Sure, you can go up and down by train. You can also hike up and down. Is better for some knees. From the mountain station you can walk up to the summit cross or to the Herzogstand. However, the path is not suitable for walking shoes. It is partly rocky.

Ascent and descent now cost € 16 p.p. and the travel time is 4 minutes. If there are high numbers of visitors, time tickets are awarded.

Belongs to a visit to the Walchensee. The fares are still OK.
