You so quickly forget that you've been riding through quite urban areas as soon as you start tracking north out of Faifley into the Kilpatrick Hills.

A decent bit of height gained pretty quick but don't forget to look back across the Clyde Valley behind you!

Mountain biking

A good way to connect the Kilpatrick Hills to Mugdock/ the WHW following the Clyde Coastal Path. Steepish climb up but all rideable on a 700x40c tyre. Great views over to Glasgow and the Campsies.

When you get towards the top, there are some short boggy sections where the broken walkways might require you to push. There's also a wooden stile over a 6ft high wall that will require you to carry the bike over.
