St John the Baptist church is a pretty, castle-like church that is steeped in history. The oldest part of the church, which was built in several stages, is late Saxon. In 1160, Norman pillars were built, the Lady Chapel was added in the 13th century, and the tower was added in the 15th century. These days, you will find this church to be a tranquil place to be.

Church with its origins in the 12th century, though it has been extensively modified over the centuries. The major Victorian restoration in 1861 changed the appearance of the church by adding distinctive triangular dormers described by Nikolaus Pevsner as "naughty".
