Sergels Torg (named after the Swedish sculptor Johan Tobias Sergel) is a public space in the center of Stockholm in two levels.
Above is a large fountain system which emits light via glass domes into the lower (shopping) level at the same time. In the middle of the fountain rises a 37-meter-high glass column (designed in 1974 by Edvin Öhrström). At night, everything is enlightened, which creates a very special atmosphere.
The lower open level is pedestrian area and designed with large triangular patterns. Here you can relax and listen / watch some street artists. In the adjoining section under the large fountain there are shopping arcades.
Surrounded is the square of tall business buildings.
