Road Cycling Highlight
Coming from the canton of Uri, you can now enjoy a magnificent view of the Valais Grimsel Pass high up on the Furka Pass at an altitude of 2,400 meters above sea level. Small info on the side: You are standing almost directly on the European watershed that separates the waters between the Mediterranean and the North Sea.

The first 5 km of the route are flat, the route to Oberwald is not worth mentioning. The first half of the Grimsel pass begins in Oberwald. Immediately after the village, the ascent begins and the road immediately leads into a wooded area. The gradient here always fluctuates between 6 and 8%, but thanks to the switchbacks that you only see at the last moment, it is nice to drive.
