Very nice old town with winding streets and small cafes. Parts of the city wall with city gates are still preserved and the Margrave Castle is in the center of Uffenheim.

The place was first mentioned in 1103 as "Offenheim". The defining word of the place name is Offo, the personal name of the founder of the settlement. In 1349 Uffenheim received city rights from Emperor Charles IV under the nobles of Hohenlohe. That was the formal conclusion of a long process that soon after the takeover by the Hohenlohe with the appointment of a mayor (before 1281), the mention of a grain mass (1288), the elevation to a parish (before 1290) and the creation of a small Jewish community (around 1300) began.
