The Bordeaux water mirror is a shallow feature of water reflecting the Bordeaux quays and Place de la Bourse. In operation since 2006, it has an area of 3,450 m² and an underground reservoir of 800 cubic meters, making it the largest in the world. Created by the fountain designer Jean-Max Llorca, the architect Pierre Gangnet and the urban-landscaper Michel Corajoud, the system allows a mirror effect to appear one after the other with 2 cm of water on a granite slab and a fog effect that can reach up to 2 meters in height. It is also the central element of the Quays which were also redeveloped by Michel Corajoud. Its operation is interrupted every winter to prevent frost from causing damage to the piping system supplying water to the mirror. fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miroir_d%27eau_(Bordeaux)
