    The IJssel is considered the most beautiful river in the Netherlands. It runs from Westervoort (near Arnhem) to the IJsselmeer near Kampen. Well-known cities are Doesburg Zutphen, Deventer, Zwolle and Kampen. There are a few bridges but certainly also a few ferries across the river. There is a cycle path on both sides so that you can occasionally change banks.
