Interestingly, the lighthouse Annex Wohnhaus stands behind the dyke and not on top of it, as is often the case.

That should be one of the very few inclines on the bike path - a highlight for this reason alone!

Lighthouse The VenLighthouse De Ven is a white square brick lighthouse on the IJsselmeerdijk in the village of Oosterdijk, about four kilometers from Enkhuizen. The tower was built in 1699-1700 and is therefore one of the oldest lighthouses in the Netherlands. The tower has a height of 15 meters and the light height is 17 meters. Above the entrance is a cartouche with the names of the founders. In clear weather, the lighthouse is clearly visible from the Enkhuizen-Lelystad dike. The tower is one of three light curbs that have been constructed to indicate the route from the Wadden Sea to Amsterdam.

Unfortunately, the tower is currently being renovated and is covered.

Freshly renovated, the lighthouse shines again in its old glory. One of the few places where you have to go down and back up from the dike. It is about 4 km to Enkhuizen.hollandbovenamsterdam.com/details/en/lighthouse-de-ven--81703d70-7bec-439e-b54f-c04c31fea68c
