The Isola Bella is the best known of the three Borromean Islands. Until 1630 it was inhabited by fishermen. End of 16th century named Carlo III. the island after his wife Isabella d'Adda. In the course of time, the island was built with a palace and a unique garden. The Isola Bella took the shape of a boat with the villa in the north at the narrowest point and the garden in the wider south part. Note opening hours.

Palace and garden highly recommended. In the season, the best come very early, very busy.

Hiking
Definitely worth a visit, ideally go as early as possible. First through the museum and then into the magnificent garden.
