Heimberg Castle once stood on a peak with a gently sloping ridge. Only the foundations of the keep remain from the complex. Numerous earthen ramparts indicate other buildings. The deep moat has been preserved along the ridge. The remains now lie in a light forest. The trees offer a far-reaching view, which explains why the castle was built at this location.
