A paradise for anglers, ornithologists and walkers opens up in the south of Herten: the Ewaldsee.
The pond created during the construction of the freeways offers an optimal habitat to numerous plants and animals - among them a multitude of different waterbird species, as well as potentially endangered species such as the tufted duck and the crested grebe.
