The bivouac site is equipped with a composting toilet and a covered picnic area. It can be used from April to October.
There is also a water point from the outside of the main building. To stay overnight here, you have to buy a trekking ticket worth 10 euros in advance. This must be validated on site by entering the date of the overnight stay. The tickets are available from Globetrotter Dresden, for example, in the Bad Schandau and Schöna train stations.

Unlike the online description, there is water there sometimes. The ranger said that it is even safe to drink without boiling or filtering!
